Flow API

Flow is a layer-1 blockchain built by Dapper Labs and launched in 2020, designed for NFTs, games, and consumer apps at scale. Its multi-role architecture separates the work of validating transactions to boost throughput without sharding, powering projects such as NBA Top Shot.

The Flow API — build without running a node

Access Flow blockchain data through one unified REST API: transaction and address data, balances, block data, and real-time webhooks for on-chain events — with no Flow node to run and maintain. Start free and scale as you grow.

Blockchain data

Read Flow transactions, addresses, balances, UTXOs, and block data through one REST API.

Real-time webhooks

Subscribe to on-chain events — incoming and outgoing transactions, confirmations, and mined blocks.

No node to run

Skip the infrastructure — managed, always-synced access with no node to operate or maintain.

Need prices too? See the crypto price API, or run your own Flow RPC nodes.

Built for consumer-scale apps

Flow splits validation into specialized node roles (collection, consensus, execution, verification), letting the network scale throughput while keeping a single shared state. Combined with the resource-oriented Cadence language, it is optimized for NFTs, games, and mainstream applications.
