Solana API

The Crypto APIs Solana API, part of the Blockchain API, lets you read SOL and SPL token balances and transactions and send them without running a node. One API key covers mainnet and devnet. Webhooks tell your server when a payment confirms, and we never hold your private keys.

Capabilities

What can you do with the Solana API?

Read balances and history

Confirmed balances and transactions for any Solana address, and blocks.

Work with tokens

Read or prepare Solana token transfers through the same API.

Estimate fees

Fee recommendations for slow, standard and fast confirmation on Solana.

Prepare and broadcast

We build the unsigned transaction. You sign it, and we send it to the network.

Get webhooks

We call your URL when coins arrive at an address and when the transaction confirms.

Same shape on 35+ networks

Swap solana for another chain in the path, such as Ethereum or Tron.

Quick start

How do I get a Solana address balance?

Send one GET request with your API key; the same request works on devnet when you replace mainnet with devnet in the path.

  • Base URL https://rest.cryptoapis.io
  • Auth: the X-API-Key header
  • JSON responses, same shape on every chain
curl https://rest.cryptoapis.io/addresses-latest/solana/mainnet/YOUR_ADDRESS/balance \
  -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"
200 OKExample response, excerpt
{
  "confirmedBalance": {
    "amount": "53.8163231",
    "unit": "SOL"
  }
}
Endpoints

Which Solana endpoints are available?

The main calls. Every path takes the network: mainnet or devnet.

How do I send a Solana transaction without giving up my keys?

Crypto APIs never holds your private keys. You keep signing; we do the rest.

  1. Step 1 Prepare We build the unsigned transaction with the fee set.
  2. Step 2 Sign locally You sign on your own servers. Keys never leave.
  3. Step 3 Broadcast We push the signed transaction to the Solana network.
  4. Step 4 Confirm A webhook tells you when it confirms.
API or RPC

Solana API vs Solana RPC: which do I need?

Most apps start with the API. Use RPC when you need a method the node exposes directly.

Solana RPC

Need raw node calls (JSON-RPC)? NodeGrid RPC will give you one endpoint with automatic failover between partner providers. Until then, JSON-RPC access is part of the Blockchain API.

About Solana

The Solana token

The Solana blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem is often touted as an “Ethereum Killer”. With its lightning speed, lower transaction fees, and smart contract functionality, Solana is taking a growing share of the blockchain market.

Solana has its own native and utility token, SOL which is used to pay for transaction fees on the network. It is also used for staking allowing users to support Solana’s security while earning rewards. The inflationary token is designed to have a decreasing supply and an annual inflation rate of 1.5%.

FAQ

Solana API questions

Is there a free Solana API?

You can try it free for 14 days. The Blockchain API free trial covers Solana and every feature, with no card. It ends after 14 days or when its credits run out; after that, calls need a subscription, listed on the pricing page.

How do I get the balance of a Solana address?

Call the address balance endpoint for the SOL balance. SPL tokens are held in separate token accounts, so list the address's tokens to see them.

How do I broadcast a Solana transaction?

Sign the transaction on your own server, then send the signed raw transaction to the broadcast endpoint, authenticated with your API key, and Crypto APIs pushes it to the Solana network and returns the transaction ID. We can prepare the unsigned transaction for you first.

Do you support Solana devnet?

Yes. Every Solana endpoint works on mainnet and devnet. Change mainnet to devnet in the path; the same API key works on both.

What makes Solana different to work with?

It is an account-model chain where token balances live in separate token accounts. An SPL token balance is held in its own account derived from the wallet and the mint, so reading a holding means resolving that account rather than looking at the wallet address directly.

How do I know when a Solana transaction is confirmed?

Create a webhook subscription for the address. Crypto APIs calls your URL when a transaction to or from it confirms on Solana.
