### What is an AML check?

An AML (anti-money laundering) check looks at a crypto address and its transaction history. It shows how closely the address is linked to illegal activity, such as scams, hacks, mixers, darknet markets or sanctioned entities. The result is a risk level you can act on before you send or accept funds.

### Is the AML check free?

Yes. The web check will be free, with no signup; its daily limit is announced at launch. It is coming soon. The AML API is live today and paid from your Blockchain API credits.

### Which blockchains can I check?

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, BNB Smart Chain and Solana are planned for the web check, and the final list is confirmed at launch. The AML API's supported chains are listed in its documentation.

### What do Low, Medium and High risk mean?

Low means no meaningful link to risky sources. Medium means some indirect exposure, so review the full report before you accept large amounts. High means a direct or strong link to scams, hacks, mixers or sanctioned entities.

### Do I need to connect my wallet?

No. The check only reads public blockchain data. It never asks for a signature, a seed phrase or a wallet connection.

### Can I run AML checks from my code?

Yes, today. Call the AML API with the address and your API key and you get the risk band, a 0–100 score, categories and sources as JSON. Each check is paid from your Blockchain API credits.
