# Wrapped Bitcoin

Wrapped Bitcoin, also known as wBTC, is a modified version of Bitcoin. It’s equal to the price of Bitcoin but comes with the added flexibility of the ERC-20 token and faster transactions.

## Bringing liquidity to the Ethereum network

Wrapped Bitcoin changes the scales of exchanges and their trading volume. Most trades occur on centralized platforms with Bitcoin and make it possible for Bitcoin to be used for token trades.
